Ukraine - The Birth of a Nation. A 4 part series as seen from a polish perspective. This documentary failed to give recognition to the role played by Olexandr Moroz, leader of the Socialist party of Ukraine, without whom the Orange Revolution and the election of Victor Yushchenko would not have been successful. In December 2004 Viktor Yushchenko was elected Ukraine's third President with 54% support o voters in the third round of voting in what was to be known as the Orange Revolution . Blogging the revolution: Truth or fiction

There are a group of people, primarily based in the US, that are seeking to silence critics and debate about the events of 2004 and the so called orange revolution. They are the same small group of Yushchenko supporters that are renowned for ganging up on anyone who opposes their political point of view. At first they attacked anyone that questioned the events supporting 2004 but of late they have been out to attack those who were previously considered part of the "gang" comrades in arms. The battle lines have been redrawn and the Yushchenko supporters have turned on supporters of Yulia Tymoshenko in what is shaping up to be a night of the long knives with each group seeking revenge for betrayal and deceit. No doubts once the Presidential election is out of the way disclosure of events past will be pouring out as each team begins a purge from within. The "Orange revolution was a well executed and well planned media campaign event. Sure there were those who stood up for...

Whilst some sort of closure has been brought to all of those events, one news story from the week wrangles on . Ukraine went to the ballot box 4 months ago – a government has still yet to be formed. For those of you who have not been following the story, it will not take long to explain the events of March, April, May and June. The results yielded a Parliament, as expected, with ex-Kuchma ally Viktor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions the biggest seat holder (186 MP’s). In Second, Third and Fourth place came Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko, Our Ukraine (President Yushchenko’s party) and the Socialists. The three parties held 129...
