Compared with the Presidential election in 2004, the number of electors in Ukraine reduced by 1.348 million – to 36.309 million people. Central Electoral Commission chief Yaroslav Davydovych disclosed this to journalists today.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he noted: ‘We have revealed cases, when electors were not excluded from lists upon their death, when electors were recorded in lists of several electoral districts, other cases”.

At the same time, Ya.Davydovych does not consider political this reduction of the lists. “It happened due to negligence of local authorities”, said he.

By preliminary estimates of the Central Electoral Commission, 514 thousand electors will not be able to come to polling stations themselves (the matter concerns disabled people, old people, etc. – UNIAN).
